Search ongoing for hunter who went missing during Minnesota deer opener

The 59 year old went hunting in the Nemadji State Forest.

The search for a man who went missing while hunting in east-central Minnesota during the weekend deer opener is now in its second day. 

According to the Pine County Sheriff's Office, 59-year-old David Peltier was reported missing Sunday around 11:30 a.m. Peltier is believed to have gone hunting in the Nemadji State Forest. 

Authorities said Monday that preliminary searches were underway and if anyone hears from or sees Peltier to call the Pine County Sheriff's Office immediate at 320-629-8380, or call 911.
