A Minnesotan who went missing while hunting in Iowa was found dead on Thursday.

Maya Htoo, of Austin, was reported missing around 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office. Htoo's body was found by a team of searchers Thursday morning in a wooded area of the Canoe Creek Access Area in Pleasant Township, which is located in northeast Iowa.

Htoo was one of two men from Austin who went hunting in the area, and Htoo never returned to a designated meeting location, prompting the other hunter to report him missing.

A cause of death remains under investigation and is pending review by a medical examiner. No further information has been released.
