Searchers find body of boater missing in northern Minnesota

Two men were thrown from their boat, but only one made it to shore.

Authorities in Minnesota say they have recovered the body of a boater missing since Tuesday afternoon.

Two men were boating on Hay Lake in Cass County around 1:30 p.m. when they were thrown from their boat.

One of the men made it to the shore where he called for help, but the other was reported missing.

Searches were conducted on the lake throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, with the man's body eventually found at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim has not yet been identified by the Cass County Sheriff's Office, as they haven't yet informed all of his family.

The Lakes Area Dive Team and Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office assisted with the search.

Hay Lake is located northeast of Pine River and Backus, or about 45 miles north of Brainerd.
