Second search for Mounds View father-of-two missing since Labor Day

Family, friends and co-workers of a missing Mounds View father and state auditor have been out searching for him Saturday morning.

Henry McCabe, 31, has not been seen since Labor Day, when his family believe he was dropped off in Fridley at a Super America gas station at 73rd Ave. NE. and Highway 65, KSTP reports.

Those who knew him gathered at 10 a.m. Saturday, KARE 11 reports, to search the area around the gas station for traces of the father-of-two, who works in the Minnesota Department of Revenue and is a committee member of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees.

The TV station notes that those who knew him believe it is out of character for him to going missing, and as such believe his disappearance to be suspicious.

"This is a crisis. Henry is not the type of person to not show up to work or to not show up to his community functions, or his union functions. He's always around, always there," his co-worker Akia Carrington told KARE 11. "He's that friendly face that you would see in the crowd, someone who would make you feel at home and welcome."

FOX 9 reporter Iris Perez followed the search Saturday, saying teams traveled the roughly 35-minute long walk between the gas station where he was last seen and his home.

Mounds View Police Department has issued an appeal for information from anyone who might know McCabe's whereabouts. Those who can help should call Mounds View police on 763-717-4070, or the Ramsey County dispatch center on 651-484-9155.
