Secret Service alerted about burned cat in Mpls.

Minneapolis police are consulting with federal agencies after a Longfellow Park employee discovered a dead cat Monday. KARE 11 reports the animal had been burned and staked to a tree stump with an American flag. A President Obama/Biden campaign sign was also nearby.

Minneapolis police are consulting with federal agencies after a Longfellow Park employee discovered a dead cat Monday. KARE 11 reports the animal had been burned and staked to a tree stump with an American flag. A President Obama/Biden campaign sign was also nearby.

KSTP reports the Minnesota Federated Humane Societies is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

A spokesperson from the Secret Service tells KSTP they are monitoring the situation and will take action if necessary. So far, no arrests have been made.

The Star Tribune notes the park's main building is an election polling place for Tuesday's primary in Minnesota,
