Semi brakes too hard, spills dead pigs onto Twin Cities interstate

An unsettling scene, to say the least.

An unsecured load of dead pigs were scattered about the interstate in the northwest metro Friday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a driver of a semi with an open-top load hit his brakes to avoid an accident at the I-494 and I-94 interchange in Maple Grove around 4:30 p.m. The quick stop caused the load of carcasses to spill onto the road.

The unsettling accident happened during the afternoon rush and needless to say, it caused extensive delays while crews worked to clean up the mess.

The driver of the semi was ticketed for having an unsecured load.
