A collision involving two semi drivers at an intersection killed one of the truckers northwest of the Brainerd Lakes Area on Tuesday afternoon.

The State Patrol crash report indicates that one semi driver ran a stop sign on eastbound County Road 23 at Highway 64 just before 2 p.m., resulting in a collision with another semi that was southbound on Highway 64.

The crash report doesn't say which driver failed to yield at the stop, but the trucker who died in the crash – a 75-year-old man from Staples, Minnesota – was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol said.

The other driver, a 47-year-old St. Louis Park man, was not injured.

Full identification of the victim is expected to be released Wednesday night.
