Semi-trailer stopped on I-94 after passenger reports sexual assault by driver

The assault happened in Stearns County, with the truck stopped in Otter Tail County.

A semi driver has been arrested on I-94 after a female passenger reported being sexually assaulted by him.

The alleged crime was reported at 10:23 a.m., when the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office dispatch received texts messages from the passenger in a semi, saying she'd been subjected to a sexual assault by the driver.

She told them the semi was traveling westbound on I-94 and gave a description of the vehicle.

A state trooper found the semi traveling near Downer, and pulled it over.

The female was found inside and was taken to a local hospital by Clay County deputies.

The driver was taken into custody and brought to Clay County Jail without incident.

Further investigation determined that the alleged assault took place in Stearns County, with the investigation having been turned over to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
