Serious motorcycle crash shuts down southbound I-35W in north metro
A crash in the northern Twin Cities shut down I-35W southbound during the Thursday morning commute.
The crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. just south of the I-35W/I-35E split in Lino Lakes.
The southbound interstate was initially reduced to a single lane as responders attended the scene, but was then closed at 7 a.m. to allow for an air ambulance to land on the road.
The stoppage caused traffic to back up to the I-35 split, with southbound drivers being diverted to I-35E.
The air ambulance lifted off just after 7:20 a.m., with single-lane traffic resuming shortly after.
