Several teenagers were injured after the bus they were riding in lost control on an icy road and rolled over.
According to Mary, Mother of the Church in Burnsville, a bus full of confirmation students was headed to Lanesboro for a fall retreat when the vehicle rolled onto its side Saturday.
It happened southeast of Rochester on Highway 52. Earlier Saturday, officials had been warning drivers of icy roads in southeastern Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol says seven people – four teenagers and three adults – were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Officials say 32 people, including the driver, were in the bus at the time.
According to the Burnsville church, the retreat is being rescheduled and all students have returned home.
After overnight rain and snow, southeastern parts of Minnesota have been reporting slick road conditions Saturday morning and early afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, the rain and snow should be done for the day in southeastern parts of Minnesota and southwestern parts of Wisconsin. But road conditions remain hazardous.
There's also a chance for more rain and snow in those areas Sunday morning.
