A Shakopee man who was injured in a motorcycle crash on Aug. 3 died on Aug. 16, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office revealed over the holiday weekend.

Thomas Edward Krieger, 64, was involved in a two-vehicle crash at Old Brick Yard Road and 130th Street West in Louisville Township, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

Kreager was riding a 1994 Harley Davidson around 8:15 p.m. on Aug. 3 when he was struck from behind by a 55-year-old woman driving a 2008 Subaru Impreza. Kreager, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center and later died from his injuries at Hennepin Healthcare.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, 40 motorcyclists were killed during the 100 Deadliest Days of the summer, which was between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day.
