Authorities say a shed fire burned up approximately $40,000 worth of valuables on Sunday afternoon in central Minnesota.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a large shed in Paynesville Township caught fire, and the by time firefighters arrived at 25806 Hwy. 23 it was fully engulfed in flames.

The deputy first sent to the fire said they could see a large amount of smoke from their position in Paynesville, which was more than five miles from the blaze.

The shed was 40-feet wide and 60-feet long. It, and everything inside, was a complete loss.

Its contents included a 1998 Lowe 1720 boat, along with its 90hp Evinrude motor, a 2008 Can-Am 800 ATV, a Polaris ATV, two ice augers, two fish houses, numerous fishing items, hunting decoys and a variety of tools.

Fire officials believe a lawn mower that was used earlier in the day is to blame for the fire.
