A 2-year-old child was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in western Minnesota on Thursday evening.
According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, the 2-year-old girl was sitting on the driver's lap when the 23-year-old Clara City woman lost control on "substantially loose gravel" and rolled into the ditch of 225th Avenue SW.
The 2-year-old girl was airlifted from the scene by Life Link helicopter but died from her injuries while en route to a Twin Cities hospital. The driver, the 23-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Willmar.
The sheriff's office is investigating the crash and has not released the identities of the woman and child.
The location of the crash was south of Roseland, which is a little more than 10 miles southwest of Willimar.
