A 35-year-old Atwater man was killed in an ATV crash just after 12 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the ATV crash on the 15000 block of 1st Ave. East in rural Atwater when he lost control, entered the ditch and struck an approach.

The crash caused the man to be partially ejected. He was pinned by the ATV, which had landed on its side, the sheriff's report says.

Deputies removed the ATV from on top of the man and immediately provided medical aid, but the Atwater man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until family members are notified.
