Sheriff: Driver runs over man in gas station parking lot
A 60-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was run over by driver who may have been under the influence of alcohol in northern Minnesota on Wednesday.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian at 2:26 p.m. at the Orton's Y Mart Convenience Store in Turtle Lake Township, near Walker, Minnesota.
Deputies arrived at the scene to several bystanders providing medical aid to the injured man. Witness said the driver of the vehicle ran the Walker man over in the parking lot before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to a hospital in Fargo with serious life-threatening injuries. His current condition is unknown.
A short time after the hit-and-run, deputies located the suspect vehicle and arrested a 48-year-old Walker man, who is being held at the Cass County Detention Center on numerous pending charges.
The sheriff's office says alcohol is believed to have been involved in the crash.
