Sheriff: Man crashed vehicle, then was struck by a train and killed

It happened about five miles southeast of St. Cloud.

A man is dead after crashing his vehicle and then getting hit by a train in Sherburne County on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office, a man crashed his truck into a power pole around 2:15 p.m. at Hwy. 10 and 42nd Street Southeast, which is in Haven Township, about five miles southeast of St. Cloud. 

The sheriff says the man got out of his vehicle after hitting the pole and then laid down on the railroad tracks, where he was struck by a train and killed. 

The man's identity is being kept private until all family members are identified.
