The Anoka County Sheriff's Office released a sketch of a man who allegedly attacked and robbed a teenage girl in Andover Tuesday night.

The teen was with friends at Bunker Hills Park when she left the group around 5:15 p.m. As she was walking on a path in the north end of the park and checking her phone for text messages, she heard someone run up behind her.

The girl told police that she wasn’t immediately concerned because the park is popular with joggers and she assumed it was someone coming down the path.

The suspect grabbed the girl and dragged her into the woods, threatening to kill her if she screamed. The teen told police she was assaulted and robbed before the suspect ran off.

She was treated for her injuries at the hospital. Police say there is no evidence of a sexual assault.

"It's a pretty rare attack for us. It's a pretty blatant individual though, who's willing to perpetrate something like this," Cdr. Paul Sommer told KSTP.

The suspect is described as white man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He has dark hair, an unshaven face and was seen wearing light-colored cargo pants and a T-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 763-427-1212.
