Shooting kills 1, injures 1; is Minneapolis' 65th homicide of 2020

It's reportedly the 10th homicide of a victim younger than 18 years old.

A teenager was killed and one other person was injured in a shooting in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon. 

Minneapolis Police Department reports that it was alerted by ShotSpotter to shots fired in the area of N. Logan Ave. and Lowry Ave. at 3:53 p.m, with officers arriving at the scene to find two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. 

One victim was in grave condition and died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts attempted by officers. The Star Tribune reports that the victim was a teenager, though police have not revealed his age or or identity. 

The other victim suffered non-critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale. 

Police said that the shooting was the result of a dispute between two groups, with the suspects fleeing the scene before officers arrived. 

It marks the 65th homicide of 2020 in Minneapolis, which the Star Tribune says is the 10th homicide involving a victim 18 years of age or younger.
