Shoreview man dies when car and semi collide in east-central Minnesota

A crash involving a 2013 Ford Taurus and a semi in Chisago County on Tuesday killed one of the drivers involved. 

The Minnesota State Patrol says 68-year-old Thomas R. Kieger, of Shoreview, was driving the Taurus northbound on Highway 95 when he "drifted across the center line and was struck" by a freightliner semi. 

Kieger was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver, a 59-year-old man from Hinckley, Minnesota, was not injured. 

The collision happened on Hwy. 95 near Pleasant Valley Road in Franconia Township, which is located on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border, about a mile northwest of Osceola.
