Shots fired as police chase suspect in Moorhead
Shots were fired during a brief foot chase in Moorhead Sunday afternoon.
A Moorhead police officer was "investigating suspicious activity" happening on the 2500 block of 4th Avenue North around 3 p.m. on July 4, according to the city's police department.
During this investigation, "a short foot pursuit took place, and shots were fired," the Moorhead Police Department said. It provided no other details regarding what constituted suspicious activity or how many shots were fired, by whom.
The suspect was arrested, and nobody was injured in the incident.
Moorhead police said the incident was "isolated," and that there is no known danger to the public. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will be investigating the officer-involved shooting, while the Clay County Sheriff's Office is tasked with the criminal investigation.
The Moorhead Police Department said it isn't providing any more information at this point.
