Shots fired at St. Paul police, pursuit ends in injury crash

One person is in custody and another hospitalized following an incident that involved gunfire and a car crash in St. Paul Wednesday night. 

Details remain limited Thursday morning, but St. Paul Police Department said shots were fired in the direction of officers near Hazelwood St. and Maryland Ave. At least one bullet hit a squad vehicle, though no officers were injured. 

The shots led to a pursuit, during which the suspect vehicle crashed. 

The condition of the suspect injured in the crash is unknown. 

More information is expected to be released Thursday.
