Shots fired into TV, bedroom with 6 people inside Glenwood home

No one was injured in the Saturday incident, and one individual is facing charges of reckless discharge of a firearm.

The Pope County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of shots fired at a residence on 210th Avenue in Glenwood on Saturday.

Responding officers learned there were six individuals in the house. One person took out a handgun and discharged four rounds, according to a report from the Pope County Sheriff's Office.

The rounds struck a TV and penetrated a wall, with three rounds entering an adjacent bedroom. No one was injured in the shooting.

The handgun was seized and one individual was arrested after an investigation. That individual is currently in custody and facing charges of reckless discharge of a firearm.

The Glenwood and Alexandria police departments and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office also helped respond to the situation.
