A pilot from Duluth was killed in a small plane crash in Laramie, Wyoming Friday afternoon, the Laramie Boomerang reports. Laramie police say the man was flying to Laramie to visit his son, a student at Wyoming Technical Institute.
The identity of the victim has not been released. The Star Tribune reports the plane is registered to a 79-year-old man from Duluth who is a licensed pilot. The plane's FAA registration describes it as a Van's RV-7A, a two-year-old experimental aircraft that is amateur-built and seats two.
The cause of the crash has not been identified. The NTSB and FAA are investigating.
