A statement from the National Weather Service office in Chanhassen:

After another cool day today, warmer air will return in earnest Thursday night, with highs Friday again expected to push 50 in some areas. A cold front will stall out Friday night across southeast Minnesota into Wisconsin and will serve as a track for a surface low that will move up out of the southern Plains and into the Great Lakes on Saturday. A few inches of snow are expected across central Minnesota Saturday and northwest Wisconsin as this low moves by.
