Snowmobiler killed in collision with car after exiting a ditch in central Minnesota
A snowmobiler in central Minnesota died in a crash with a car in Wadena County on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. on Hwy. 71 and 350th Street in a rural area south of Menahga, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The snowmobiler, identified as Jesse Scott Jones, 46, of Menahga, was riding in the ditch of Hwy. 71 and when he climbed out to get onto the shoulder of the highway he wound up in the lane of traffic.
His vehicle was then struck by a northbound Pontiac Bonneville, with Jones pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 30-year-old man from Browerville, was not injured in the crash.
Menahga is located about 22 miles north of Wadena in central Minnesota.
