Spinouts, crashes across Twin Cities as snow gets heavier
As the snow arrived in the Twin Cities, the spinouts and crashes on metro roads soon followed.
As of 8 p.m. there were around two-dozen incidents on Twin Cities roads as the snow intensified shortly after 7:30 p.m.
Among the incidents was a jack-knifed semi-trailer on eastbound I-694 at Lexington Avenue.
Outside of the metro, there was a steady line of spinouts and crashes on I-94 between Monticello and Albertville.
While only 1.2 inches of snow had fallen at MSP Airport by 6 p.m., the heavier stuff was expected to fall as the evening progressed.
The latest forecast for the Twin Cities had the metro getting between 3-5 inches, with the south metro expected to get more than the north.
BMTN's Sven Sundgaard says that those living in the I-494/694 loop can expect to get around 4 inches when all is said and done.
