Spirit Airlines is now offering direct service between the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and Denver International Airport, according to a news release.

The Florida-based low-fare, high-free carrier first announced plans to expand its Twin Cities service last summer.

The Denver Post says Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines already fly the daily nonstop route.

Spirit made its Twin Cities debut last spring with daily flights to Chicago and Las Vegas. It added flights between MSP and Dallas-Forth Worth earlier month.
