St. Cloud police say the discovery of two women, each found dead in separate locations 24 hours apart, have "notable similarities." But it's too early to know if they're linked.
Janesa Lashay Harris, 28 years old, was found dead around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, in the apartment in which she lived on the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North, according to police.
The following morning, police said they were notified of a body on the side of a road, on the 4300 block of Cooper Avenue S. On Friday afternoon, police identified her as 25-year-old Keisa Marie Lange, of Litchfield. St. Cloud police said it appears she got to that location by vehicle, but no cars were on the scene when officers arrived.
Both deaths were initially described as "suspicious." But in the past 24 hours, authorities have revealed both died from a gunshot wound, with each woman's manner of death ruled a homicide.
"From the information released, there are noticeable similarities" between both homicides, St. Cloud police said Friday, though "it is still unclear if there are any direct connections.
The locations where the women were found are about 6 miles apart by car.
Police described the investigations as active, and asked anyone with information to contact the department at 320-251-1200, or Tri-County Crimestoppers at 1-800-255-1301.
