Milwaukee station WISN says the 2-year-old, Marque Montez Charleston, Jr., saws sleeping in his father's SUV when it was pulled over near Lake Delton, Wisc. Authorities were arranging to reunite the boy with his mother.

Earlier Sunday the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension had asked for the public's help in finding Charleston and his son.

As the Pioneer Press reports, the agency said the boy's father broke into the home of the mother at about 1 a.m., assaulted the woman, and took the boy with him when he fled.
