The St. Paul City Council candidate who was arrested after a semi-nude picture of his estranged wife appeared on his blog is in trouble with the law again.
Police have confirmed that David Martinez was booked into Ramsey County Jail for violating an order for protection, which followed an arrest in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood.
The 38 year old was allegedly trying to see his children at the time, which is in violation of a 2-year protection order his wife had taken out against Martinez for her and their two kids.
Martinez had left the scene after his presence was reported, but police caught up with him a short time later at a coffee shop at Snelling and Minnehaha Avenues, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The Ward 4 election candidate was arrested last month under Minnesota's revenge porn laws, for non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images after the picture of his wife appeared on his blog. He was released from jail and has yet to be charged.
The post appeared a day after his wife filed for divorce and applied for the protection order.
That in turn followed two incidents in which Martinez was banned from St. Paul's public libraries and Target Field.
He was barred from Target Field after getting into a physical confrontation with security guards who had asked him to leave for vaulting over barriers that separated seating areas and concessions stand.
A few days earlier he'd been banned from St. Paul libraries after screaming at security and staff members, which he claimed was because he was sticking up for a black teen who had been accused of stealing.
