Authorities are investigating a pickup truck crash that killed the driver and injured his two passengers in Oak Grove on Friday.
Late that afternoon, the 1995 Chevy left the road at University Ave and 229th Ave NE, coming to rest in a swampy area, the Anoka County sheriff says in a news release.
Two of the people inside were able to free themselves, while the driver had to be extricated by responding personnel. He was later declared dead.
Both passengers received non-life-threatening injuries, with one being treated at the scene and released.
The name of the deceased won't be released until his family is notified.
There are few details about what happened, so why the vehicle might have left the road is unclear.
The crash is now under investigation by the Anoka sheriff, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
