A St. Paul man has died in a head-on collision in Polk County, Wisconsin.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at 4:34 a.m. Tuesday on Hwy. 35 near St. Croix Township.

The driver of a 2004 Saturn Ion, Kenneth Jones of St. Paul, was traveling north on Hwy. 35 and police say it appears his car veered to the left of the center line.

It then collided with a southbound Chevrolet Impala, driven by a man from Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, hitting it head on.

Police released a picture of the wreckage they found when they arrived at the crash, with Jones dead at the scene.

The driver of the Impala, identified as Dustin Coury, was flown from the scene by an air ambulance and is receiving treatment in an area hospital.

It's not clear what his current condition is.

The road was closed for several hours as responders and the Life Link helicopter recovered the scene.
