St. Paul man sentenced for hitting boy at MSP airport
Tommy Rodriguez, 61, will spend 120 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse for running over a young boy with his SUV at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport last December, the Pioneer Press reports. Rodriguez was also sentenced to three years probation, 120 hours of community service and must pay restitution for the boy's injuries.
The newspaper notes Rodriguez pleaded guilty to a felony count of criminal vehicular operation last month.
Zachary Drew of Coon Rapids was at the airport to greet his father returning home from service in Iraq when he suffered a broken leg and facial injuries. The SUV dragged the boy about 15 feet before crashing into a concrete wall.
