St. Paul mother arrested for driving high with baby in car

She was pulled over on I-94 in Wisconsin.

A woman from St. Paul has been arrested in Wisconsin for driving high with her 6-month-old child in the car.

The 30 year old was pulled over at 7:35 a.m. Saturday while speeding on Interstate 94 in Eau Claire County, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The smell of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle, with the mother and her passenger admitting to a trooper that they had been smoking before being pulled over.

The woman was taken to Eau Claire County jail and is awaiting charges for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

The child has been placed in the care of its grandmother.

According to the Star Tribune, the mother was on probation for a felony theft conviction in Minnesota, and she has also been convicted of drug possession in the past.
