The Pioneer Press reports that a St. Paul bowling team is waiting to hear if it holds a new Guinness World Record. A 12-member team from the Tin Cup bar on St. Paul's North End bowled for 24 straight hours without substituting team members.

They did it for Give to the Max Day starting 7 a.m. Nov. 14. Even if they didn't manage the record, they raised $20,000 for Spare Key, a Minneapolis nonprofit that provides financial help to families with sick kids.

The Tin Cup's owner Gidget Bailey said in order to set a world record, her team had to knock down 45,879 pins.

With four hours left to go, Bailey said the team had knocked down 46,166 pins.

"They've got blisters, they could hardly walk, but as soon as they hit the 45,000-pin mark, I said 'You guys, you got this,'" Bailey said. "They just kept going. It was crazy."

The Guinness bowling records page lists winners for most strikes in a minute, most games in 24 hours, tallest stack of bowling balls, highest score bowling between the legs and highest score bowling backwards.

Baily and her team hope to take the 24-hour team-bowling crown from a 12-member team from Missouri that won it in 2007.

Guinness administrators have her score sheets, and she said she expects to hear soon.
