St. Paul woman dies a month after being hit by a car

A 64-year-old woman who was struck by a car last month died Friday at Regions Hospital in St Paul, according to St. Paul Police Department. 

Lia Lor, of St. Paul, was struck by a car as she cross the street at Edgerton St. and Jenks Ave. at approximately 5:45 p.m. May 20. 

She was transported to Regions Hospital in critical condition following the crash, succumbing to her injuries Friday, June 21, according to authorities. 

The 23-year-old driver of the vehicle involved in the collision cooperated with police and drugs nor alcohol were factors in the incident. 

But the driver was cited for failure to have a driver's license or proof of insurance, and the Pioneer Press reports that he could face additional charges now that Lor has died. 

According to data from the City of St. Paul, from Jan. 1 to Mar. 31 there were crashes involving pedestrians in St. Paul, resulting in 40 injuries and three deaths. Lor is believed to be the fourth pedestrian to die in a crash in St. Paul this year.
