St. Peter 18-year-old dies in farming accident inside grain bin

The incident happened the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 14.

An 18-year-old died in an apparent accident while working on a farm in southern Minnesota. 

According to the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office, deputies were alerted to a report of an 18-year-old male trapped in a grain bin on a farm in rural Norseland at approximately 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14. 

On arrival, deputies found the teenager dead inside the grain bin. 

He's been identified as Landon David Gran, of rural St. Peter. 

The sheriff's release says it "appeared as though Gran had made contact with a piece of equipment within the bin and had succumbed to his injuries."

No further details about the incident have been released. 

Also responding to the scene was the St. Peter Fire Department, Allina Ambulance Service and Mayo One.
