St. Peter lawmaker stepping down
State Rep. Terry Morrow, a DFLer from St. Peter, will not join his colleagues for the new legislative session that begins next month. Morrow announced Wednesday that he's resigning his seat to take a job in Chicago.
Morrow spent six years in the House and ran unopposed in November. He has been a professor at Gustavus Adolphus College and served on the House Higher Education Finance Committee.
Morrow was the chief author of more than 30 bills at the Capitol.
He's accepted a job as legislative director with the Uniform Law Commission, a non-partisan group that drafts legislation for states.
Gov. Mark Dayton will need to schedule a special election to fill the seat.
