State Patrol: Double-fatal crash involving semi, car

The crash happened at an intersection about 10 miles west of Windom.

Two men from Waite Park were killed in a crash in southwest Minnesota on Monday morning, according to the State Patrol. 

The collision, involving a Ford Focus and a semi, happened at approximately 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 62 and County Road 5, about 10 miles west of Windom in Cottonwood County. 

The crash report says the semi driver, a 25-year-old man from Slayton, was eastbound on Hwy. 62 while the two men in the Ford Focus were going south on County Road 5 when they collided at the intersection. 

The two men in the car died at the scene. They are identified as Hussein Hassan Noor, 30, and Abdiqadar Yunis Abdi, 25, both of Waite Park. The semi driver was not injured. 

No further information has been released.
