Bad roads factored in a fatal crash south of St. Cloud Wednesday evening.

At around 7:50 p.m., a Ford F-150 driven by a 57-year-old Rice, Minnesota, man was traveling north on Hwy. 15 when it hit an icy patch and collided with a southbound Buick Regal, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the Buick, a 67-year-old Kimball man, was killed in the crash. His identity is expected to be released Friday.

The State Patrol crash report says alcohol was detected on the driver of the Ford F-150. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

The collision happened near the intersection of Hwy. 15 and County Road 8 in Maine Prairie Township.
