State Patrol: Impaired Minneapolis man rolled vehicle carrying 3 passengers on I-94 in Wisconsin

A Minneapolis man was arrested after crashing a vehicle that injured himself and three passengers early Saturday morning in Wisconsin. 

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, 27-year-old Leonardo Gonzalez Gasper was under the influence of marijuana when the single-vehicle rollover crash happened around 2:40 a.m. on Interstate 94 in Eau Claire County. 

Three passengers were in the vehicle, including children ages 5 and 8, respectively. All three passengers and Gonzalez Gasper were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire for treatment, with Gonzalez Gasper then booked into the Eau Claire County Jail. 

The State Patrol said a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and Gonzalez Gasper was given a field-sobriety test at the scene. A blood sample was taken at the hospital for review. 

Gonzalez Gasper was arrested for 1st offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence with children present, in addition to being in possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license and without insurance.
