State Patrol investigating fatal crash near Duluth

The crash was reported around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened Wednesday morning in St. Louis County. 

According to the crash report, a Hyundai Sante Fe was going east on Industrial Road in Industrial Township when it crossed onto Hwy. 33 and was broadsided by a northbound Chevrolet Silverado. 

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 30-year-old Jonathan R. Williams, of Culver, Minnesota, died in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the State Patrol said. 

The driver of the Silverado, a 31-year-old man from Saginaw, Minnesota, suffered non-critical injuries and did not require hospitalization. 

Industrial Township is located 10-15 miles northwest of Duluth.
