At least one person was killed in a fiery crash west of the Twin Cities late Sunday night.

The State Patrol reports that the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban was eastbound on Hwy. 55 in Rockford Township when she left the road to the right at Eaton Ave. SE, then vaulted and ignited in flames after coming to a rest against a sign on the south side of the roadway.

A 28-year-old Montrose woman was driving the SUV. There was also an 8-year-old girl in the vehicle. The State Patrol has not announced either person's condition, only saying the crash is fatal.

The single-vehicle wreck happened at approximately 11:42 p.m.

More information is expected to be released Monday evening.
