A state senator was cited Saturday for suspicion of driving while impaired. Court records reveal that State Sen. John Jasinski was cited for fourth-degree DWI and DWI with a blood-alcohol content above the state's legal limit of .08%.
The citation was issued in Rice County. It's unclear if Jasinski was jailed for the offense.
Jasinski, R-Faribault, is a lifelong Faribault resident who represents District 24, which includes communities in Dodge, Rice, Steele and Waseca counties.
Prior to be elected in 2016, Jasinski was the two-term mayor of Faribault. Earlier in life, he served two tours with the Navy in the Persian Gulf. In addition to being state senator, Jasinski works in real estate.
