A Sauk Centre man is facing felony charges over a bomb threat that cleared out the Stearns County Administration Center on Friday.

A news release from the local sheriff says the 51-year-old called the center that afternoon and "made reference to a possible bomb in a bathroom on the third floor."

The building was evacuated, though a search using an explosive-detecting K9 from the St. Cloud Police Department found no evidence of a bomb.

Authorities apparently had no trouble tracking the suspect down; "during the initial stages of the call," the news release says, the suspect was "transferred to a Stearns County investigator," who made arrangements to meet with him that evening.

The man was arrested "for felony threats of violence" at the end of that meeting, and later released "pending further investigation."

Authorities have not specified a possible motive for the threat yet.

BringMeTheNews does not name suspects until they have been formally charged with a crime.
