The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a 59-year-old man is dead after being stabbed. And a neighbor tells the Pioneer Press, the man's own son appears to be the suspect.

The incident happened Friday at a residence at the 400 block of Mulberry Street West in Stillwater.

Police responded to a call reporting a domestic disturbance, the news release says. When they arrived, officials found two injured men – they were both taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment.

KARE 11 says 59-year-old William Mark Scheel suffered life-threatening injuries and died there. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner has ruled his death a homicide.

Scheel's 30-year-old son is still at the hospital in critical but stable condition.

A neighbor tells the Pioneer Press that they heard the elder Scheel's daughter run out of the home and scream that her brother had stabbed her father.

Authorities say the incident is under investigation and there is no threat to the public.
