A classic Chevy car stolen in Farmington last month has been reunited with its owner.

The 1951 Chevy Styleline was inside a 24-foot trailer that was stolen in rural Dakota County on either Feb. 3 and 4, prompting an appeal from the Dakota County Sheriff's Office.

On Thursday, the Dakota County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the car had been recovered and returned to its owner, Gary Schulz.

Schulz, 61, had bought the car about five years ago in honor of his late father, who had once owned the same model.

Dakota County Sheriff's Detective Dan Qualy told the Pioneer Press that Schulz was "very happy" to have the vehicle returned, saying it looked like no damage had been done.

There was no information released however about where the car was found and what happened to the trailer, with Qualy continuing to investigate the theft.
