Storms move through Minnesota after sunny, windy Sunday

A warm and windy Sunday is giving way to some storms moving through Minnesota Sunday evening.

A cold front is moving through the state and will create some scattered thunderstorms along the I-35 corridor, according to FOX 9.

The risk for severe weather is very low, but the winds will continue to be gusty and the storms could bring some brief heavy downpours, lightning, and small hail, the National Weather Service says.

Meantime, officials are still fighting grass fires in several parts of the state due to the dry and windy conditions we've seen over the past several days.

Monday's weather will be a bit cooler and still breezy for the Twins' home opener at Target Field. But it should be mostly sunny in the afternoon and we expect to see high temperatures in the low 60s, FOX 9 says, so it should be a great day for baseball.
