Some students with a very big sign at the St. Thomas/St. John's football game on Saturday asked Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., to prom, and it did not escape her notice, WCCO reports.

Klobuchar, as well as Gov. Mark Dayton attended the rival matchup dubbed Tommie-Johnnie.

It was a big day for St. Johns coach John Gagliardi, 85, now in his 60th year of coaching and college football's winningest coach. Saturday marked his 600th game. Huffington Post has a nice profile.

Unfortunately for Gagliardi, the Tommies stomped all over the Johnnies 43-21 in Collegeville, the Star Tribune reports.
