Minnesotans behind the wheel have a 1-in-80 chance of striking a deer while driving, reported the Star Tribune, citing a new study.

State Farm Insurance compiled the analysis based on Federal Highway Administration statistics.

Last year the chances of hitting a deer in Minnesota were pegged at 1-in-98.

The 1-in-80 ratio makes Minnesota the eighth-likeliest state for car-deer collisions, down from No. 7 last year.

West Virginia was No. 1 on the list with a 1-in-40 chance of a car-deer collision, followed by South Dakota and Iowa. Wisconsin was No. 7.
